- The Infantry should be in squads of up to 9 so they may all fit in the stryker
-There should either be an upgrade that changes The infantry from ary to marines or two different units both recruitible from the barracks.
-There should be improved accuracy and range.
-There should be a Predator strike(Armed aerial UAV) smile.gif
-There Should be an upgrade for the sniper to give them a M107.

1) A squad of nine people is just too big. The U.S. is concentrated on small, highly trained squads. While the Chinese have bigger squads but with less accuracy.

2) I don't really see the use of having both Marines and Rifleman in one barrack. If their only difference is accuracy and range, I don't really see the use of it.

3) There already are alot of strikes so far, so its better to have just a recon UAV. (there is no shortage of firepower)

4) It's better to have it as an ability. A .50 cal sniper is mainly for soft skin/ lightly armoured vehicles. There already are good anti infantry sniper rifles (Accuracy International Arctic Warfare sniper rifle)

Oh, and welcome to the forums. biggrin.gif

1) the marines could have different abilities like fire-up. also, they could move faster in water(no speed reduction) Finally, they would have a little more health.

so i think marines as a seperate unit would be cool (and useful on water maps)t

Hmmm.....Got any other suggestions that will make them more unique compared to standard rifleman? If they only got that ability, they're nothing more then rifleman with a different skin and the ability to run for like 10 seconds. If you got some creative idea's, i'd like to hear them. biggrin.gif

American special forces are pretty much an amalgamation of all the other heavy inf in the game really

small squads,
smg's/assault rifles as standard
demolitions
possibly some kind of stealth (not ninja smoke)
fireup

As for things a bit more original how about allowing them to inspire other nearby units

increase the accuracy of airstrikes by laser pointing the target (making the cloak vital)

how about the ability to sabotage vehicles? (like a cross between a sticky bomb and a demo charge)

umm assassinate individual units maybe?

then we have the whole come in via water or littlebird

well just an idea about the marines.. why not give them the ability to cross rivers/lakes..

maybe give them the ability to spend 10 seconds building craft and then be able to cross in them, to go with the marine name!!!!

/off topic: I think he meant the basic training for a Marine is harder compared to a normal G.I. /off topic/
Shall we try to stay on-topic? smile.gif

What if we make it this way:

Normal status = Army men (G.I. ?)
vet status = Marines
next level = Airborne infantry
last level = Delta squad

As in COH no large scale armies fight, this makes sense to me. What dou you think?

And by the end you got loads of Delta squads. I'll see if there's something which would fit for Marines. But I can't promise anything. About the vet thing, you know that we want to keep the original CoH gameplay and feeling. (except it's in a modern 'sauce') And it wouldn't make real sense if they would become a completely different unit just by some experience.

Just an idea as the Germans in the original COH have that vet thing. And anyway, they donīt have to "turn" into a new unit. Just the new units you build could be the upgraded one?

You know Airborne is the Army right.
Delta squad is unheard of now. Not then not never.

Use spec ops; Rangers, Special Forces.

About the marines, there were no marines in COH.
Stick to the Army.

---
I think what your trying to imply is.
(With some adds of my own)

Barracks :
Infantryman(11B)-Expert in movement to contact, close combat with the enemy.

Combat Engineers(21B)-Everything needed to be an engineer. Set up buildings, repair bridges, demolitions, and etc etc....

Calvary Scout(19D)-Reconnaissance. Able to call in artillery.

"Vet Status"- Improves teamwork ability and maneuverability. Operates more inefficiently.

Special Abilities: Ground Forces
82nd Airborne-Black hawk insertion, parachute in what ever.

Special Forces-Elite fighting force, deploys out of buildings anywhere on the map you require them.
