Fedex, one of the worst airlines in the world based on hull loses, lost another one this morning in Japan. The video of it crashing (I presume from an airport camera) is in the link.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFqxY5Qjij8&feature=related The updated MD-11, based on the DC-10, has gotten itself a bit of a reputation as a bit of a beast to land. The aircraft, although bigger than a DC-10, has a smaller elevator, which is suspected for possible landing problems, most notably running out of elevator authority on landing - i.e. you can't pull the stick back any further to keep the nose up. In this case, the aircraft bounced on landing, and it looks like it became uncontrollable before nose-diving into the runway. It must have a gruesome last 10 seconds of life for the two pilots.

As I am working on my flying license this has really put me off flying for a couple of weeks...
