For those who don't know, since the Chinese army is a secretive lot, every ten years they show off their equipment for the National Day...And this year they got tons of new toys. One of the biggest gun in this parade is the CJ-10 cruise missile, a Chinese response to BGM-109 Tomahawk. I guess this list will give modders tons of new things to experienment with eh?

For those Battlefield 2 nut, as shown from this parade, the WZ-10 attack helicopter program is completely stalled (if not stopped), and the WZ551 IFV is out of fashion in the Chinese Army (Police still use it as mobile water cannon and SWAT van though)

Everyone in the formations, except the reserve, special op and the militia formation uses Type-95 rifle or cabrine. Reserve uses Type-81 rifle, militia uses Type 79 SMG, and special op uses QCW-05 suppressed SMG.

The army and the air force uses digitial camo pattern.

Correction: Airborne uses folding stock Type-03 rifle, the armed police uses some kind of combat shotgun...

Hey there. Thanks a lot for your input again. We'll investigate your sources.

Though, Currently we are using Type 56 Rifles for the Militia squads.

Regarding the digital pattern for vehicles. We might consider it for some unique call in vehicles, but we won't use it for the general vehicle. One of the main reasons, is the workload, that this pattern will produce. All those cubes have to be horizontally alligned for example . Infantry will get digital pattern though...
We want to finish this mod before the next century, so some compromise have to be made biggrin.gif

But we are sure, that you will like the result in the end

No problem, just throwing out ideas for the mod to make it more exciting...

Well, in 1999 military parade, the Militia uses Mosin–Nagant! ohmy.gif

The Mosin-Nagant is a bolt action-rifle though, and we want them to use an SMG-like gun. Even, if it is historically not 100% accurate, we thought the Type 56 would fullfill this role quite well.

In addition, parades are to be taken with a pinch of salt. The equipment is often not that accurate, cause they want to show the best stuff they have. But not everyone is equiped with it in reality.

Well, with the Chinese army, parade are the best gauge on how the soldiers are equiped at the moment...Trust me, all those stuff on the parade will be all you can see from the PLA the next 10 years...the Pentagon will do massive Chinese military assessment after this show.
