Thought you might like to hear my ideas, I'll keep adding when I think of new ones, mostly US military gear because I know little of Chinese military gear.

Doctorate Specific HMMWV
Design:
CROWS remote turret, Basic & Supplementary armour package

Armament:
Browning .50 cal M2HB

Global Upgrade:
Up-Armoured - No armament armour.
Counter-mine armour kit
Central tire inflation system (CTIS)

Armament Upgrade:
Pedestal weapons mount - M240 GPMG
MK 19 40mm Grenade Machine Gun
TOW II Anti-Aircraft
106mm Recoilless Rifle/Milan Anti-Armour

Non-Doctorate Specific HMMWV
Design:
Manned open cupola turret, Basic armour package

Armament:
Browning .50 cal M2HB

Global Upgrade:
Up-Armoured -No CROWs system
Central tire inflation system (CTIS)

Armament Upgrade:
MK 19 40mm Grenade Machine Gun
TOW II Anti-Aircraft
106mm Recoilless Rifle/Milan Anti-Armour

Notes: -
The CROWS system would have the advantage of the gunner not being killed so the gun can fire until the HMMWV is destroyed, it could also give a high armour or health rating as it has extra armour, due to no open-top. This could be disadvantaged by a slower reaction/turn speed of the armament.

The 'Counter-mine Armour Kit' could stop things like C4 (if the opposing forces have it) from sticking to the vehicle, so it comes as an invalid target or it bounces off, it could also be used to give extra health or armour rating as the underneath of the vehicle gains armour plating against mines.


USA Sniper - Doctorate Specific
Design:
The unit would work start as a two man team, but as it gains a higher veterancy or a more powerful rifle, the spotter would be lost, as to counteract the sniper's over supremacy of infantry.

Armament:
M24 SWS - Unlimited, High reload rate, Medium rate of fire, Fast set-up, No vehicle damage, Short distance.

Global Upgrade:
Weapon Familiarity Training - Quicker Set-up, Better Accuracy.
Enemy Recognition Training - High rate of fire
Rifle Cleaning Discipline - More bullet penetration

Armament Upgrade:
M82/107 - Limit, High/medium reload rate, slow set-up, Medium vehicle damage, Long distance.
M95 - Limited, High reload rate, Slow Rate of fire, Medium set-up, Low vehicle damage, Long distance.
M40 - Unlimited, High reload rate, Low/Medium Rate of fire, Fast Set-up, No vehicle damage, Medium distance.

USA Designated Marksman Non-Doctorate Specific
Design:
The Marksman would be a upgradeable member of a squad, (like the British in OF), and once had grants it's own squad upgrades, but may become an invalid upgrade if you go for the doctorate which grants snipers.

Armament:
DMR - Modified M14 Rifle - Unlimited, Low reload rate, Medium rate of fire, Fast set-up, No vehicle damage, Medium distance.

Global Upgrades:
Enemy Recognition Training - Higher rate of fire
Rifle Cleaning Discipline - More bullet penetration, Better accuracy

Armament Upgrades:
Mark 12 Mod 0/1 Special Purpose Rifle - Unlimited, High Rate of Fire, Medium Set-up, No vehicle damage, Medium distance.


SPR - Rail upgrades:
Vertical Grip - Better accuracy
AN/PEQ-2A Target Illumination - Better Target acquiring - Higher rate of fire, Better Accuracy

Are you suggesting there would be a sniper and a designated marksmen? I think just a DM would be more realistic. If I'm not mistaken I think the sniper teams were more characteristic of Vietnam.

I'm suggesting both, as you still get 2 man sniper teams under Special Forces, not to sure about normal forces, but I know they get DMs

O, I see, the sniper team would be something you call in or unlock from the command tree? That could be a bit overkill on snipers but if the Chinese are gonna be based on large squad size than I guess it could be useful.

Yes it would be a call in, but the Sniper teams would be limited probably, depends on the balance. Also once you've unlocked the sniper command tree the DM is no longer a usable upgrade, just to give a bit of balance.

If I may, some ideas for the M1A2

Upgrades
* SEP Package. Increases LoS, Range and Accuracy
*TUSK Package (expensive) - Better armor against Infantry, and Reactive Armor, Remote Operated Tank Commander's Gun (M2HB), Protected (but still exposed) loaders gun (M240)
Abilities:
*Smoke Grenades
*Smoke Screen (Tank trails smoke to obscure enemy LoS)
*Maneuver Warfare: Tank gains Speed Bonus

In my opinion, make the Abrams Very Fast (They're LIMITED at 60kmph, but every crew I know + my own takes the limiter out), Very well armored, and Very Deadly. It should be an expensive Counter to the Chineses swarm of Tanks.

I can post more ideas as I come up with them
